M is for Mary, that virgin so lovely
E is for ever obedient Joseph who always did what God asked of him
R is for running shepherds, ones who came hastily to see baby Jesus
R is for right now, He is beckoning to you to come unto Him
Y is for your choice to make heart room for your Brother
C is for the Christ child Simeon “took…up in his arms…”
H is for Mary’s heart where she kept all things and pondered them
R is for redemption from sin and death offered through Jesus
I is for how Jesus increased in wisdom, stature, and favor
S is for the star that guided the wise men
T is for tidings of great joy about which the angels sang
M is for the manger because for Him, there was no room in the inns
A is for Anna who “spake of Him to all that looked for redemption…”
S is for someday soon Jesus will return & rule as rightful King

This post made me smile, for I have done the same thing many times in the past, writing what each letter means to me. Also, I have been known to write “Merry Christenson” or sign my name “LaDawn Christmas” while sending out a myriad of Christmas cards! At least I got the most important part right – CHRIST!! 🙂
