Remembering The Man Who Gave Birth to Our Republic

Today is our Republic’s birthday.

Happy Birthday, America.

I love you.

As I join Americans across the country in remembering and celebrating the precious freedoms we still enjoy, I am led to remember the father of our great republic, the one that God called upon to birth this incredible nation.

George Washington.

I’ve thought today of one of my favorite parts of the Revolutionary War when Washington led a desperate army of hopefuls across the Delaware in frigid December conditions and in an astonishing feat, won the battles at Trenton and Princeton, thereby changing the total morale of the Contential army. Boosting confidence in the cause of America. Fueling faith in its destiny. Daring to believe she would be the victor.

We owe so much in way of grateful rememberance to this man who rode up and down the line of his marching men, encouraging them to press on.

They were sleep deprived. Many of them had mere rags for clothing which offered no protection against the winter’s deathly chill. Two of them offered all they had on that 9 mile march. It was a trail of blood for many whose feet were wrapped in rags, as they had no shoes.

They were destitute, but they had a leader commissioned by God Himself, and they followed him to victory.

Praise God!

And thank General Washington! What a man. What a leader. What a general.

As co-partner with God, what Washington and our founding fathers gave us is worth more than most of us can comprehend.

I long for the purness of the republic General Washington created. For simpler times. For the peace, tranquility, and innocence of a morally grounded nation. For begone yesteryears. For America as my grandparents knew her.

For another Washington.

To help us in our time of critical need.

Unto all the world: I salue you, General Washington, and thank God for you.

I salute u for giving us commentary that reminds us of the past and the price that’s been paid.

    1. Thank you, Les. We must remember! There was a terrible price paid, but they were willing to pay it for the birth of America and for her future and their children’s children. What brotherly love!

There’s NO QUESTION that God’s hand was with George Washington! And George Washington KNEW IT and ACKNOWLEDGED IT! And he led others to look to God. Yes, we need another George Washington so desperately.

    1. No question at all.
I love how you said that: GW knew it and acknowledged it. Agreed.
      What a man!
